About

Kedarnath is one of Lord Shiva's most revered pilgrimages, located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand's Garhwal region. Kedarnath is one of Uttarakhand's Char Dhams and the most important of the Panch Kedars. Kedarnath is one of Lord Shiva's twelve Jyotirlingas and is located at an altitude of 3586 metres, in the midst of breathtaking Himalayan peaks and near the Mandakini River's head.

Lord Shiva, the guardian and destroyer, is also known as Kedar, which means mighty. The serene atmosphere surrounding the temple creates an ideal environment for meditation. The Shiva Temple, a prominent Hindu shrine and pilgrimage that draws visitors from all over the world, is one of the primary attractions here. Natural beauty and religious fervour contribute to the travel and tourist potential in this area.

Shiva is the embodiment of all passions, including love, wrath, fear, death, and mysticism, which he manifests in many forms. In the area alone, there are around 200 Shiva shrines, with Kedarnath being the most important.
